Emma - Day 53

Day 53 - Thursday - A very Happy birthday to my sister Kate, and Sebs dad Brendan, we enjoyed a birthday dinner at home with Sebs family and Brendan, miraculously a mere month after his injury. For a guy whos been through the roughest of rough patches, it was remarkable to see him once again at the head of the dinner table, somewhat skinnier and balder for the experience, but in his full personality, getting stronger by the day.

Emma - Day 52

Day 52 - Wednesday - 'Little' Emma usually stays a night with us when she comes up to visit her father from Nelson over the school holidays, we look forward to this as her company is always enjoyable, and we get to steal abit of her youth. Seb and Emma spend almost the entire time goading one another, which they both seem to get alot out of lol. Hence early evening mock fights on the deck.

Emma - Day 51

Day 51 - Tuesday - According to my smallest and yet tallest sister Jessie, 'geekage' is an essential passport into the family, and so it would seem Seb is stamped and ready to board the geek ship Paraha. Having friends over such as Theo invariably means the pulling apart of machinery and the poring over the internet for geekness type stuff. I like it, lots.

Emma - Day 47, 48, 49, 50

Day 50 - Monday - Harry Telfer mans up and mows his first lawn, I think he actually enjoyed it, but probably doesn't realise this is not a one off event, but if I know Harry he'll be more than eager if theres pocket money waiting at the end of it :)

Day 49 - Easter Sunday - Egg Day. I bake and make other food to take to mums as shes on strict bedrest with her wonky face, and we have a very nice family lunch with my nana, but I feel like a big fat piggy after.

Day 48 - Saturday - Morning time, and Cole decides theres no time like the present to put a pillow on his head.

Day 47 - Friday - Good Friday. We went to see Brendan, and discovered he was going home on day leave, a big step after a month in hospital and ongoing health problems due to the hemmorrhage. This is the view from the waiting room, pretty good really.

Emma - Day 43, 44, 45, 46

Day 46 - Thursday - Emma is home from Nelson for the holidays, we went to see mum on her last day in hospital before she was discharged.

Day 45 - Wednesday - Told you we got a telly.

Day 44 - Tuesday - Harriet Hissyface turned up to be fed, but she was covered in something that smelt like petrol. I had to make the very awful choice to catch her and take her to the SPCA. I hope shes still alive.

Day 43 - Monday - I left my cellphone at Kates, so I met her in town at her Fashion Design school to pick it up, she was making a dress out of paper with her classmates.

Emma - Day 39, 40, 41, 42

Day 42 - Sunday - more driving pics unfortunately due to the lack of memory I have to take my daily photo. Driving home from visiting my mum before she had her surgery this week.

Day 41 - Saturday - bbq at Kates house, my children play games and maim each other, caught nicely by Kobi's grimace as Cole pinches his face.

Day 40 - Friday - Alas no picture again and I really don't have a fear of catching my boob in a ring binder but I can tell you we bought a television...

Day 39 - Thursday - Driving home from St Lukes, we went to buy Kobi some things for his birthday this month, children are expensive creatures.

Emma - Day 35, 36, 37, 38

Day 38 - Wednesday - I'm having a bad run of forgetting to take pictures, so Im resorting to plagiarising and plugging Postsecret. And as for the words well its true because noone in Auckland is behaving as if theres a financial crisis which disturbs me.

Day 37 - Tuesday - my face was itchy and I was tired.

Day 36 - Monday - bussing home from university which I do sometimes so as to avoid the outrageous cost of parking.

Day 35 - Sunday - no particular reason other than lying on the bed fussing with the manual settings of the camera, pretending to know what I'm doing when I bloodywell don't. And so I posted this one to mark the time on my face, because it won't always look this way.

Emma - Day 34

Day 34 - Saturday - I came into the bedroom to find this usual sight, Mimi loving Sebastian to death under his homemade laptop table. She likes under there, likes being near the manstink, and the warm. Of course she never sleeps on my side of the bed, much to Sebs annoyance.

Emma - Day 29, 30, 31, 32, 33

Day 33 - Friday - We had Jay for the night from Wellington so he could play in his indoor soccer match, they killed the opposition 10-1.

Day 32 - Thursday - Came home to the plethora of cats. cats everywhere, cats cats cats. But Mimi is not in this picture, she is inside hiding from all the cats.

Day 31 - Wednesday Arrived from 5pm lecture in time to miss Coles ribbon being handed out for Athletics, but catch Kobi's. Enmasse children and noise and parents talking that insensed Seb with their rudeness.

Day 30 - Tuesday - not recorded but for some inexplicable reason Seb was taking screen shots of his computer this day which is better than a picture of nothing.

Day 29 - Monday - Not recorded. enjoy this instead.

Emma - Day 28

Day 28 - Sunday - We had brunch with young Nate at a cafe Abracadabra in Rotorua, of course he was also there with his parents Brendan and Rebecca, as 18 month old children are not usually in the habit of frequenting cafe's on their own. It was a nice stop before driving home to collect the boys.

Emma - Day 27

Day 27 - Saturday - Homeward. After a week in Wellington, it was time for us to leave Jan and the boys in the care of Sebs sister Jo, with Brendan still not out of the woods he faced many more days in Wellington Hospital and we had to go home to Auckland. We drove as far as Rototua but not before taking in more of this place we live in.

Emma - Day 25, 26

Day 26 - Friday - I spent the day at Sue's while the family were at the hospital, just me, Vita, Grace and Rosie. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up with 3 dogs sitting on me.

Day 25 - Thursday - After a day spent at home taking care of Jay, Seb and I drove across town to Mt Victoria to catch the late afternoon light, followed by dinner at a small cafe on Cuba St. trying to make the best of a bad situation and feel some small sense of normality inside the cavern of concern for Sebs Dad.

Emma - Day 24

Day 24 - Wednesday - Seb and I took the boys to Oriental Bay to give Jan a break while she sat at Brendans bedside. A windy interlude in the Windy city, where we watched the slow crawl of midafternoon joggers and enjoyed an icecream.

Emma - Day 23

Day 23 - Tuesday - After an 8 hour night drive to Wellington, we woke up in Wadestown. After an early morning visit to Brendan, it was hot chocolate from the Wadestown Kitchen and the hospitality of Jans sister Sue in her lovely hilltop home.

Emma - Day 19, 20, 21, 22

Day 22 - Monday - After Seb couldn't fly we found ourselves driving to Wellington. Stopped in Taupo at the lake for food and rest, we caught the sunset, which I thanked Brendan for making us be there to see.

Day 21 - Sunday - The day before the rest of everything that followed. Kobi and Emma playing on the porch at Mikes new house, Seb and I lunched with his sibs before the ominous news of their Dads brain hemmorhage.

Day 20 - Saturday - Seeing double, but not trouble. Israel and Hunter Taylor out with their mum and my old highschool classmate Sarah, 2 labours of love who are very very cute. myself and their mum went back to school the next day for a year picture. bloody disappointing as only 5 of us showed.

Day 19 - Friday - High School Reunion night. interesting. Changed my outfit about 6 times. how stupid.

Emma - Day 15, 16, 17, 18

Day 18 - Thursday - With 4 minutes to spare I leapt up in the dark and exclaimed 'I forgot to take a picture', and after a bunch of fumbling Seb knocked the clock onto the floor and reset itself to 1.00, which completely defeated the purpose of photographing the remaining 4 minutes.

Day 17 - Wednesday - Ominous skies and a downpour on the way home from Athletics, yes Im taking pictures and driving at the same time.

Day 16 - Tuesday - Contrary to popular belief, I actually write stuff when Im in lectures. Sociology of the family 222 , scintillating stuff.

Day 15 -Monday- Coley banged his head at school, which required bed and cuddles with Arnie the bear.
